A press conference will be held by the General Office of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) in Taiwan Hall of the Great Hall of the People at 16:00 p.m. August 27, 2009 (Thursday).
Journalists from China and abroad are all welcome.
The 10th session of the 11th NPC Standing Committee scheduled from August 24 to 27 will review the draft law regulating people’s armed police, the draft decision by the NPC Standing Committee on modification of laws and the draft resolution by the NPC Standing Committee on handling climate change.
The relevant department of the NPC suggests the drafts be approved through voting by this session. After the session, officials from the NPC Environment Protection and Resources Conservation Committee, the Legislative Affairs Commission of the NPC Standing Committee and the People’s Armed Police Headquarters will be invited to answer questions from the press over the laws.
There will be no interpretation service for the press conference. Please raise questions in Chinese.
Journalists interested in the press conference may obtain invitation letters and parking permits from the Information Bureau of the General Office of the NPC Standing Committee (23 Xijiaominxiang, Xicheng District) by showing one’s own valid identification for interviewing. The deadline is 17:00 August 26.
Please show invitation letters to enter the North Gate of the Great Hall of the People for the press conference, and with the parking permits, park cars in the parking lot at the North Gate.
